Winners

Ohio State:  Even without McClinton, it is a very good road Top-25 win.  The Buckeyes would be safely in the tournament if it started today.  Quality wins don’t come with asterisks.

Northwestern:  Lands squarely on the bubble with a convincing win over previously undefeated Florida State.  Is this the year the Wildcats finally break through to the NCAA’s?

North Carolina:  As if anyone needed a reminder of how good they are.  What a beating they put on Michigan State last night, winning 98-63.  Then again, Ford Field is used to hosting blowouts this year.

Clemson:  A solid road win over Illinois might look nice come March.

Me:  For nailing the margin of victory on both the Maryland and Clemson games, and coming within two points in the Minnesota and Wake Forest victories.

Losers

Virginia Tech:  They needed the win over Wisconsin to get back in the discussion, and could not make it happen at home.

Florida State:  Are they for real?  The Northwestern drubbing may have shown that they are not.

Michigan State:  Please take them out of the Top 25.  The Spartans have lost by a combined 53 points in two games against the ACC.  Wow – an overhyped, overrated Michigan State team?  Must be December.

Me:  For thinking Purdue would beat Duke.
