The Big Ten is up, and the ACC may be a bit down - is this the year the Big Ten finally breaks through to win the ACC/Big Ten Challenge?  No, but it will be close.

Virginia 65, Penn State 55 – UVA guts out a win over a disappointing Penn State team.

Purdue 70, Wake Forest 64 – Wake Forest rebounds from their loss to William and Mary, but can’t keep up with the better Boilermakers.

Northwestern 72, NC State 55 – Home court and a better team allow the Wildcats to cruise.

Maryland 82,  Indiana 65 – The Terps outclass Indiana in Bloomington.

Michigan State 72, North Carolina 71 – The Spartan’s experience and poise allow them to gain a measure of revenge from last year’s beat downs.

Virginia Tech 58, Iowa 56 – Malcolm Delaney goes for 54 points and the Hokies somehow hold on.

Clemson 79, Illinois 68 – Clemson is well prepared for another nonconference test after the 76 Classic.

Miami 68, Minnesota 67 – Miami makes a strong statement that 2009 is not a rebuilding year.

Michigan 80, Boston College 68 – Enough 3’s fall for the Wolverines in an easy victory.

Duke 72, Wisconsin 70 – The Blue Devils continue to find ways to win.

Ohio State 77, Florida State 62 – The Buckeyes are too talented to lose at home to the Seminoles.
