The Gavinski Award is a weekly award given to the team with the worst performance in college basketball over the past seven days.  It is presented in honor of J.P. Gavinski, the most useless player in Division 1 basketball.

 Alcorn State

Everyone knows that Kansas-Alcorn State is a mismatch, but good God in heaven this one was ugly.  After taking a quick 4-0 lead over top-ranked Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse, Alcorn State watched Kansas go on a near-record 36-0 run in a ghastly 98-31 loss.  The Braves shot 23% for the game, turned the ball over an incredible 30 times and trailed 53-12 at halftime.  Unfortunately for Alcorn State, college basketball has a shot clock and did not allow the Jayhawks to mercifully dribble out the final twenty minutes of the game.  Alcorn State fell to 0-10 on the season and can only hope that SWAC play allows them to win a couple games and restore their pride.
