The Gavinski Award is a weekly award given to the team with the worst performance in college basketball over the past seven days.  It is presented in honor of J.P. Gavinski, the most useless player in Division 1 basketball.

 Boston College

How do you ruin what was a promising start to the season?  You duplicate Boston College's feat of the past week.  The Eagles had an impressive stretch with wins at Providence, at Michigan and at home in their ACC opener against Miami.  They followed it up with their second straight home loss to Harvard (ouch, although they are expected to compete for the Ivy League title) and another home loss to Rhode Island (a potential at-large elimination game).  Couple those with an iffy loss to St. Joseph's and BC is in a strange position - on top of the ACC standings but with a questionable at-large profile.  Just like last year, nobody can seem to figure Boston College out - including themselves.
